The Grady County Board of Commissioners office seeks a Payroll Manager to work in the finance area. Hours are Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm. Paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, and retirement are available. Candidates must possess payroll experience, some accounting experience, and the ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment. Duties include all facets of payroll such as:


  • collecting, reviewing, and entering hours worked into the payroll system
  • processing payroll and all applicable reports
  • processing payroll taxes accurately and timely
  • preparing check stubs for distribution
  • preparing W2’s at year end
  • processing payroll reports for the retirement plan
  • maintaining payroll system with updates of direct deposit information for all employees, new hires, terminations, pay increases, deduction additions, deletions, and changes


Other duties include Accounts Receivable/Finance/Administrative duties such as:


  • Opening and distributing mail
  • Answering phone as needed
  • Issuing purchase orders as needed
  • Assisting public as needed
  • Booking Ag Center as needed
  • Reconciling monthly bank statements
  • Reconciling monthly insurance bills to assure appropriateness of charges by employee and maintain updates as necessary
  • Maintaining capital asset inventory in cooperation with Finance Director and Clerk/Human Resources Director
  • Maintaining operations manual for all duties performed
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned
