Grady County Property Assessment Notice
Due to delays in the revaluation of Grady County property, assessment notices were recently mailed out. Per the Tax Assessors Office, property owners have 45 days to appeal the assessment values of their property; some will end on October 28 and some on October 31. Depending on the number of property owners that appeal the assessed values, and the time needed to process those appeals, the digest will be delayed in the delivery to the Tax Commissioner’s Office.
The Board of Commissioners cannot set the mill rate until the digest is received from the Tax Commissioners Office and the revenue calculated to cover the 2025 budget; likely in December. The Board of Commissioners anticipates a significant decrease in the mill rate due to the revaluation of Grady County properties. The Board of Commissioners, city councils, and school board have been assured that the digest will be processed as quickly and efficiently as possible to set the mill rate and mail out tax notices with the final amount of property tax owed.
